We launched today

Today is the day. El Guacal is live for anyone, anywhere, who wants to find Venezuelan products near them.

If you're part of the Venezuelan diaspora, you know the search: where can I find Harina P.A.N. this week? Has the bodega that stocks Maltín closed? Did someone open a new spot that sells queso de mano? El Guacal puts every store the community knows about on one map, in one place.

What you can do today

• Find a store — search by your location or zoom around the map. Filter by the products you're after.
• Add a store — know a shop that stocks Venezuelan products? Add it from the map. A moderator reviews every suggestion within 72 hours.
• Use the data — every store and product is open data. Download CSV or JSON from the Open data page.

What's next

The map is only as good as the community that maintains it. The fastest way to help is to add the stores you already know. We'll keep improving the map experience, adding moderation tools, and sharing updates from the diaspora here on the blog.
